The Palouse Area Modelers held their latest meeting on Jan 15, 2012.  There were 9 members present.

This month Jack collected yearly dues.  $10 is still the cost as it has been since the beginning of the club.

I received the information packet from the Lewis Clark Train Club.  They are holding a swap meet March 25 at  the Nezperce County Fair Grounds in Lewiston.  We have reserved one table to set up a display of our models.  We will be putting together our show flier to hand out as well.

Jack informed us that we are on the Moose Lodge Calendar for Oct 6.

We discussed a show theme.  1942 The Road Back will be it.  The club voted to sponsor two additional awards.  Best Scratchbuilt/Miscelanious and Best Gaming Miniature.

Club members will be sponsoring the following awards:

Best Allied Armor WW2
Best German Armor WW2
Best Luftwaffe Subject
Best Jet Aircraft
Best Western Desert
Best Detailed Motor
Best Street Rod
Best Motorcycle
Best Single Figure Under 60mm
Best Sherman Tank
Best Guadalcanal Subject
Best Barn Find Diorama
Best Vintage/Restoration

We talked about incorporating our donation to charity of all our profits from the model show, hoping that we could get more people thru the door.  It also could aid in getting a good newspaper article in advance of the show.

For something new and exciting it was suggested that we could hold a kit swap.  Several members brought kits to trade or sell.  Some things changed hands and it seemed to work well.  It would be good to keep it going, so if you have stuff bring it!

Show and tell was next and in no particular order:

Jack brought two Verlinden Knights in Combat.  They were mounted on a base and were very nicely done.  The action fairly flew!

Chuck brought his completed Hobby Boss Mig 3 in 1/72 scale.  He also brought in the new 1/72 Airfix Swordfish.  The detail was fantastic.

Rodney had his Birdcage Masserati.  Gossy white paint job and homemade decals

Don had the 1/35 Academy Hellcat Tank Destroyer that is in progress.

Mike brought in his Barn Find subject, a resin 1/48 Buggati 100P plane fron the late 30's.  The French hid it in a barn to keep it from the Germans.

Mark had the most different things to show.  Diorama's of French subjects from WW1 made from figures that were included in Mokarex Coffee tins.  He got them off of ebay several years ago.  Very interesting stuff.

The next meeting will be Feb 19th 2012.  Jack in the Box in Moscow.
